Motorsports

In the area of sports sponsoring, BORBET is involved, among others, in motorsports. The corporation’s success actually seems to have a positive impact on the drivers: The sponsored talents are on their way to the top.

Sport 1 Team (MINI CHALLENGE)
In this year, BORBET is partner of the “die agentour Racing” team which has been participating in the MINI CHALLENGE since it started in 2004, and which is considered one of the most successful teams ever. Numerous victories, podium placements and titles speak for themselves. Nico Bastian is the pilot who has driven the Mini successfully to place 3 in the final ranking in the last season.

In the seasons 2008 and 2009, BORBET supported the MINI CHALLENGE,  which has been run within the framework programme of several Formula One and WTCC races since 2005. All vehicles were equipped with alloy wheels designed specifically for this race series. In addition to that, all vehicles got branded with the lettering BORBET.

Fabian Hellwig

11-year-old motor sport wunderkind Fabian Hellwig states his goal as moving into professional racing in the future. This young lad from Lichtenfels got a big step closer after being selected to join the newly-founded junior cart racing team led by two-time DTM Champion and Audi driver Timo Scheider at the start of the 2010 season. As part of the Nintendo Team Scheider, this young, BORBET-sponsored racing enthusiast will learn about the world of racing first-hand. Besides the ins and outs of the race track, they will also learn about presentation beyond the asphalt. The young racers will take part in workshops, where they will learn about dealing with sponsors and the media, and can observe the everyday life of a professional racer during a DTM weekend. They will also have the opportunity to peek behind the scenes thanks to Scheider's service team and BORBET's partner of many years, ABT Sportsline.

As often as his DTM duties allow, Timo Scheider is personally on location to share his extensive knowledge with the young drivers.
At the start of the new season, they switched to race carts made by M-Tec and are working closely together in the technical sector with the company of the same name, M-Tec Racing.
In 2011 even Fabian will be upgrading to a much high performance class in the Mini Cup (11 years & up) after a successful year in the Micro Cup class (8 years & up). He was one of the most successful racers on his team last season with a 3rd place overall ranking in the German-Austrian RMC race cart championship as well as 1st place during the Herbstpokalrennen (autumn cup race) at the Hunsrückring Hahn track. He is especially proud of taking the first podium position and the very first first racing win for the Nintendo Team Scheider.

Although it will be much more difficult for him to reach the top spots this season in the new class, he will do his best to establish himself in the front ranks as one of the youngest drivers in his class.

Instruktoren Börse

BORBET guarantees safety and success in rally sport

BORBET has been supporting the Instruktoren-Börse with its activities in connection with cars for around the past 3 years.  In addition to driving safety training in all classes throughout the Federal Republic of Germany, the Instruktoren-Börse is also heavily committed to rally sport.

In 2009, the “Safety in Motorsport“ campaign was set up by the Instruktoren-Börse.

It is general knowledge that motor sport can be dangerous, risks can be minimised or even completely avoided however. This is achieved by using high-quality materials among others, but there are unfortunately also a large number of plagiarisms from the Far East and the correct preparation of man and engine for the much higher competitive stress when compared to the situation on the roads.

This is where the Instruktoren-Börse comes in, promoting the teams so that their start in motorsport is easier and enabling them to find their way through the “regulations“ jungle.
With the partners BORBET, KW, Dunlop, Motul and Drexler, renowned suppliers are at their disposal, in order to provide the Instruktoren-Börse with an important foundation for the road to success, together with the motorsport knowledge.

The decision was made to allow a cover car to compete in the competition in order to make the campaign even more attractive! Furthermore, the vehicle is also used for trade fairs, campaign days, driver training courses, license courses and for charitable purposed.

The BMW M3 Rally was established in just 12 months under the auspices of Instruktoren-Börse and with the support of the partners.

The rear wheel driven vehicle has an output of around 300hp and its weight was reduced to 1,250kg. Only wheels from BORBET were chosen here in order to meet the heavy demands.

The so-called “Rallye 200“ events are restricted to 315hp, so that the vehicle which is used is also able to participate in the top league as far as the engine is concerned.

Not only winning is in focus as far as the Instruktoren-Börse  is concerned, but also the making of the campaign way of thinking public to a greater extent and offering the fans a great show!
