More Winter Sport Sponsoring by Wheel Manufacturer BORBET

This company from Germany’s Sauerland region supports local luger

Olympic luge champion Sandra Kiriasis has been sponsored since the beginning of the current World Cup Season 2010/2011 by light metal wheel manufacturer BORBET. Beginning immediately, the 35-year-old athlete from Winterberg will display the BORBET company logo and colours on the deflectors of her high-tech bobsled called Firebolt.

This luger has been racing at up to 140 km/h through the icy luge courses around the world since 2000. Besides an Olympic gold and silver medal, Kiriasis has been able earn many other international wins in her unique career. She will start the new season with a new pusher: her goal is the ninth entire World Cup victory. After winning the first World Cup this past weekend in Whistler, Canada, the first step has been completed.

The BORBET company has been active in winter sports for many years. Aside from the luge course in Winterberg, it also provides financial support for the BSC, a local sports club for luge and sledding in Winterberg. Furthermore, athletes in the German women’s luge team are also sponsored by BORBET behind the scenes: the company sponsors physical therapist Julia Kuhn.
