An important step into the future: Once again this year, several apprentices (m/f/d) have successfully completed their apprenticeship at BORBET, one of the leading manufacturers of light alloy wheels, and are now strengthening the BORBET team at the Hallenberg-Hesborn and Medebach sites.

Congratulations to: M. Gustin (IT specialist for system integration), L. Seliger-Lange and M. Reis (electronics technicians for industrial engineering), L. Wahle (industrial clerk) and M. Bichowski (cutting machine operator).

In addition, K. Kalverkamp and S. Thomas obtained a vocational qualification as machine and plant operators as part of a partial qualification programme. This not only emphasises BORBET's commitment to traditional vocational training, but also to promoting further qualifications.

It all began in 1984 with the founding of ‘Austria Alu-Guss GmbH’ in Ranshofen. Since then, high-quality aluminium wheels have been rolling off the production line here. A significant milestone followed in 1996 when Peter Wilhelm Borbet took over the company, paving the way for BORBET to enter the European automotive industry. Managing Director Helmuth Huber has been overseeing the remarkable development of the site since 1995. In 1998, the pioneering ‘AAG2000’ project was launched, making the company a trailblazer in the industry. In 2009, AAG changed its name to BORBET Austria. Today, the company is looking to the future with the ‘BORBET Austria 2025’ project.
The success of the plant in Ranshofen is based not only on technological innovations such as smart casting and burnishing, but above all on the visionary leadership of Helmuth Huber. At the big family celebration at the beginning of August, Helmuth Huber (Managing Director) and Margot Borbet (Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of BORBET Austria) honoured the 40-year success story.
