What exactly does a mechatronics technician (m/f/d) do?
As a mechatronics engineer, you will have a very varied range of tasks and will ensure that all machines run smoothly. During your training, you will get to know the various departments and areas of responsibility. The great thing about this profession is that you will be able to repair not only mechanical but also electrical systems.

YOUR WORK DAY
As an apprentice mechatronics technician (m/f/d), you will use your extensive expertise in many of our production areas. Here we show you an example of what your working day in mechanical processing maintenance will look like:06:00 a.m.
At the start of work, there is a brief team meeting to discuss the tasks to be carried out.
06:15 a.m.
Then I take the tool trolley to the machine. Now I can start maintaining the machines.
I remove the sheet metal covers inside the machine to check the components underneath for dirt and wear. All defective components are replaced. Once everything is back in order, the covers are refitted.

09:30 a.m.
Now it's the first break. I can have a delicious breakfast in our canteen.
10:00 a.m.
Refreshed, we continue. The machines have many switches and buttons that may have come loose. I check them, reattach them or replace them. Defective light bulbs are replaced immediately.
11:00 a.m.
The control cabinet contains many electronic components that are cooled by small fans. I have to check these and replace them if necessary. Together with a skilled worker, I measure whether the voltage at the relays and contactors is being switched through correctly. I replace any that switch frequently or are defective immediately.
01:00 p.m.
Time for lunch break.
01:30 p.m.
Now there is only one hour left until the end of the working day. The machine is now being put back into operation. All functions are being checked and tested. Finally, the safety check. The emergency stop must always work!
02:30 p.m.
Now I'm done for the day. Tomorrow, it's the next machine's turn in the machining cell.
