When does my training start?

Training at BORBET generally begins on 1 August in Germany and on 1 September in Austria.

In special cases, however, the date may differ, for example if this date falls on a weekend. In this case, training would start on the following Monday.

If you want to start a training programme during the current year, this may also be possible under certain circumstances.

What can I expect when I start my apprenticeship?

Training at BORBET starts with familiarisation days on which all new trainees (m/f/d) get to know each other with the help of team-building measures and tasks. This is followed by essential safety instructions and a tour of the company.

Once all the formalities have been completed, further team activities will follow, in which skill and creativity are required above all. Finally, all the important information for the next few days is provided so that the training can get off to a good start the following day.

What do I wear on the first day?

First impressions are particularly important, especially on the first day of training. Your clothes reflect your personality. It is therefore very important that you dress properly on your first day. However, it is even more important that you feel comfortable in your clothes, as this is the only way you can be yourself. Basically, you can't go wrong with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, shirt or blouse.

How are my working hours organised during the apprenticeship?

As an industrial apprentice (m/f/d) you will work from 6 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and in commercial apprenticeships usually from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m..

At our BORBET site in Austria, working hours are from 07:00 to 15:50, regardless of whether you are doing a technical or commercial apprenticeship.

How long does the probationary period last during training?

The probationary period is 4 months for all trainees (m/f/d) at our German locations and 3 months in Austria for each apprenticeship.

Can I shorten my apprenticeship?

Yes, if the school grades at the vocational school and the performance in the company make this possible.

At our location, it is possible to shorten the apprenticeship period by one year if an apprentice (m/f/d) already has certain previous experience such as a school-leaving certificate from an AHS or BHS, e.g:
a completed apprenticeship
a successfully completed skilled labour examination
a final examination from a BMS programme lasting at least 3 years

What happens after I complete my training?

Of course, this is up to you, but as the takeover rate at BORBET is very high, there is a very good chance of a permanent position in the respective training area.

Of course, you can also apply for further training in another area or join a dual study programme. There are countless opportunities to shape your future at BORBET according to your own ideas.
