YOUR WORK DAY
06:00 a.m.
My working day begins with a meeting with the journeymen, who tell me what repairs need to be done and what tasks I can take care of.
06:30 a.m.
Now it's time for the morning tour of the mechanical processing department. Here, I check all the machines and top up the lubricating oils.
07:30 a.m.
Next up is a repair in production. My colleague explains the steps involved to me and together we repair the broken machine. Once we give the go-ahead, production can continue there.
10:00 a.m.
Break!
10:30 a.m.
I repair damaged spare parts, store them afterwards and finally enter them into the SAP system.
10:45 a.m.
Machine downtime! – I have to quickly replace a defective V-belt in a high-gloss turning cell to keep the machine downtime to a minimum. A sense of responsibility is very important in my job because downtime means sluggish production and therefore lower output.
01:00 p.m.
I tidy up the workshop, sort the spare parts that have been delivered and also enter them into SAP.
02:30 p.m.
Now I'm off work.
